IMAGE: I’ve just hit 101 registered works on APRA with the addition of my new single Don’t Get Too Close To The Fire (Burn Burn Burn) out on 30 Aug. (above)
I’m no Buckethead (seriously, check out his vast catalogue of music – wowowo!!!!!) but with the registration of my new single Don’t Get Too Close To The Fire (Burn Burn Burn), I have just tipped over the 100 registered works mark at the Australian Performing Rights Association, APRA.
This does feel like a fairly exciting achievement for me, especially considering all the stop/start/ups/downs I’ve had with my music career. I feel like I’ve created a body of work and a legacy that might go beyond a generation at least. Hopefully my nephews can take this catalogue and turn it into some money, much better than their Aunty did, during her lifetime.
Anyway, new song with the longest title ever, out on Aug 30 on all music streaming platforms. It’s another piece of therapy for me, where I have dealt with learning to cope with the indifference and rejection and huge disappointments of my very underground music career, all set to a SUPER DISCO track. I love it. It makes me feel relieved to get it all off my chest. It’s one of my favourite songs because it is another hugely personal subject.
DON’T GET TOO CLOSE TO THE FIRE (BURN BURN BURN) will be out on all music streaming platforms including SPOTIFY, AMAZON MUSIC, APPLE MUSIC, YOUTUBE MUSIC and more on FRI 30 August.
